So i wanted the opinion of some other artists on this.. and there is no better place to go than my DA friends made up of that very thing.
What i noticed is this. .. I had a VERY serious case of art block for a while. Since sometime in the middle of june actually.. Seriously look at the dates between my mermaid picture and the more recent ones.
YAH..
What had happened was... right as i was starting my silver dragon painting my father had a hissy fit about being in the assisted living AGAIN, and as usual took it out on lil ol me.
So i didn't touch a paint brush for months.. i actually had to clean the dust off my dragon painting before i could finish it.
BUT .. i noticed somethings A) now that the art block  has broke.. OH MAN has it ever broke.. B) now that it has broke... i am no longer having the difficulties with acrylics that i was having before. if you look at the first two acrylic paintings i did.. UGH...
if you look at the last few.. yah.
So.. i was wondering has that happened to anyone else.. the art block breaks and all of a sudden your skill level for a particular form or medium jumps.. by a lot.
Cus thats what happened to me with acrylics.. and while.. I LOVE IT...
I am a lil mystified at the same time.

Happens pretty much in every creative field, but especially in writing.  That's why there are tons of books and advice essays, and tips about how to break it.  But ya just gotta do what you can to combat it (if you're so inclined, that is), and sometimes that means *not* doing the creative thing for a while.

Maybe its a brain's defense against...something, I dunno.
